The site is a narrow parcel in a highly developed area in Mount Kisco NY. The site is at a high elevation and had views to the west, but privacy was an issue. The solution was to open the home primarily to the sky rather than to the neighboring residences. It was conceived as a series of barn-like, shed-roof wood structures. The sloping roofs are entirely skylight and heavy timber construction. The home acheives a sensation of luminosity throughout, with the feeling that one is on an open parcel of land many acres from the nearest neighbors. Weather conditions change the feeling of the interiors at every moment.
